August 20-22, Monster Mania provided a weekend of incredible guests and vendors. It also allowed me to do another raffle for the Spina Bifida Association. Thanks to the generous contributions
from the stars of Boondock Saints and all who entered, we were able to make another contribution to Spina Bifida Association. Over two hundred people entered the raffle. Pictured are the winners of the autographed and framed print, signed by Boondock Saints stars, Norman Reedus, Sean Patrick Falnery, David Della Rocco and myself. Big Thanks to David Della Rocco for being kind enough to come over and pull the winning ticket.
Sept 3-5 was spent in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania for HorrorFind Weekend. This was my first HorrorFind and let me say "See
ya next year"! The place was packed all weekend but I still managed to break away and get a picture taken with the Great Dick Miller. I had met Dick in 2008, gave him his portrait and forgot to get a picture with him. He remembered my portrait of him immediately and shared that he has it hanging in his living room. His wife also added that people comment on it all the time. How awesome! Check out the Dick Miller portrait here.
Then it was off to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for Horror Realm from
Sept 17-19. This show would mark 1 of 5 shows in a row and what a way to start it out. I arrived the night before to set up
and attend the grandest house party around (Thanks Rich, I'm still stuffed). At the show, I debuted shirt number 4 from the Twisted Robinson Collection, Basket Case. This was my first time meeting the cast members from the movie as well as it's writer and director, Frank
Henenlotter. Frank also directed the classic, Frankenhooker (and many more) as well as his latest, Bad Biology. I had a
blast chatting and drinking with Frank and his assistant for the weekend, Albert Cadabra. I sold out of first run of Basket Case shirts in two shows. Look for more Basket Case shirts at my appearances on next years, InSinEraTour 2011.
To the left is the poster for this years Horror Realm which featured many zombie guest at this years event.
After Pittsburgh it was off to one of my favorite places, Nashville, Tennessee. I was a guest of the Nashville Comic and Horror Fest (Thanks Marc). The highlight of the visit was getting to hang out with my good pals, Ben and Stacey Dixon and Artist Scott Blair. Good times and great strides were taken on the development of a break dancing accessory which will allow you to spin almost anywhere. I look forward to next years trip Nashville for the Breakin' Vest to debut at the Full Moon Tattoo and Horror Fest 2011!
Then it was off to Cleveland, Ohio (Heeellllooooo Cleveland)
and Cinema Wasteland's 10th Anniversary Show!! Congrats to Ken and Pam Kish for rockin 10 years of convention goodness. To commemorate the occasion, I created a portrait of Ken as Cuzin of Ghastlee. I sold of the portraits on the second day. If your interested in getting your hands on a Cuz portrait contact his manager, Ken Kish.
Then it was time to go to Erie, Pennsylvania for another guest appearance (Thanks Greg) at the Eerie
Film Fest. I created an event poster for this show as well. All 50 of the signed and numbered prints were gone by Sunday. This is always a fun show and this year proved no exception As well as the cool guests, vendors and movies, I got to eat like a King! This had to be the number one show for home cooked goodness. I
also got the pleasure of meeting and talking shop with Gary Pullin from Rue Morgue Magazine and seeing The Creepshow live!! Rockin good time!
After Erie I made the thirteen hour trek to Worcester, Massachusetts for Rock and Shock!! This was my first
time at the show (Thanks Leah) and one of the most successful in terms of networking! My portraits were represented at the tables of George A Romero, Dee Wallace, Doug Bradley Danielle Harris and Danny Trejo. I also (finally) got to see GWAR play and it was a midnight show! I will definitely be back in 2011!
Then it was back to the Midwest for my annual window display and appearance at America's Largest Comic Book
Shop, Bookery Fantasy (Fairborn, OH). Thanks to Tim, Chuck, Lanny and the excellent staff at Bookery Fantasy. This appearance is always a blast and after my signing I got to get out and visit all the Foy's Halloween Shops and Displays. I witnessed 2 electrical executions, live/dead animatronics and watched a whole lot of people getting scared.
Speaking of getting scared, November 5-7 brought on Scarefest in
Lexington, Ky. This marked my 3rd year as official designer for the event. I created the event poster and tshirt design and various promotional devices throughout 2010. This year I raffled of an 18x24 framed
and matted Event Poster autographed by ALL the Horror and Paranormal Guests benefiting the Spina Bifida Association. Above is a picture of me and James T, the winner who took home the big prize.
The last show of The Disposal Tour was HorrorHound Weekend (Cincinnati, OH). This marked HorrorHound's second Cincinnati
show and it was packed. I created a Ghostbusters centerfold for the Official Program. I want to thank Ryan Kemp for posing as a kick ass Ghostbuster. The Cincinnati show is evolving into quite a spectacle.
This was a great show to end a very successful tour. It was filled good times with good friends. Can't to see everyone for next years shows!!!
